Brighton Engagement Shoot

Pre Wedding Photographer

I met Carys and Davin at Portia and Yann’s St. Paul’s Cathedral wedding last year. We were on the same table during the wedding breakfast. Little that I knew that I’ll be photographing their wedding a year after.  Carys and Davin are having their wedding in Brighton this year, and when they asked me if I would be keen on doing a pre wedding shoot at Brighton, I was all up for it. I went to Brighton at least 6 or 7 years ago and absolutely loved it. Brighton is really beautiful. I really love some small boutique shops around and some lovely cafes and restaurants. We had a great day in Brighton and I’m so looking forward to their wedding in few months.

This was the last wedding I photographed in 2012. I assisted Jay for this wedding, a fantastic photographer, great friend and a mentor. It was beautiful weather but bitterly cold. But, what would you expect at the end of December. The wedding was in the beautiful Northbrook Park in Surrey. Its a Grade II listed, privately owned 18th Century estate set in 150 acres. Both Laura and Matt looked great on the day. Despite of being such a cold day, they both braved the weather to get some great photographs. One great thing I loved about Northbrook Park was the peacocks. Its one of my favourite bird and they were all over the place. They were in the balcony of the cottages and every where I walked in the estate. Another place I saw peacocks moving were in Maunsel House in Somerset. Another stunning venue.

Here are some of the pictures from the day.

I love going to Borough Market. The food there is just too good. But its not just the food I go for. Everytime I go there I make sure I go to the Southwark Cathedral. It is so beautiful. It was a great opportunity to do wedding photography in Southwark Cathedral. It was a beautiful wedding. A bit of grey skies followed by a bit of rain. Filiz and Stephen are head teacher and assistant head teacher of a school and they invited all the kids from the school to attend the wedding ceremony. The kids were all so excited and the Cathedral was jam packed. After the ceremony was over both the couple spent quiet a lot of time surrounded by all the kids who were busy taking the photographs of their newly married teachers and congratulating them. It was a beautiful ceremony followed by the reception in The Platform Restaurant and Bar. It was really eventful wedding. I got to photograph the couple near one of my favorite building in town and a new addition to London skyline, The Shard and I broke my new camera. It came of my shoulder strap and fell on the ground. I was gutted. Luckily I was covered by insurance so it didn’t pinch that much.

Here are some of the pictures I love from the day.

Aynhoe Park Wedding of Hannah and Henri is one of the most exciting wedding I’ve photographed this year. When Jay asked me to second shoot the wedding with him, I was really very excited. Aynhoe Park is luxurious British country house. Its a 17th century, Grade II listed Palladian house set in 25o Acres of Capability Brown gardens. The house is owned by James Perkins who is a veteran of British music industry. He has collected some remarkable treasures from across the globe. The whole house is a treat to the eyes. Its got artifacts all over. Some possessions included a Lion with a crown, a polar bear draped in a union jack, a bear wearing old fashioned Pilot’s cap and goggles, life size giraffe in the orangery and my list can go on and on. Hannah and Henri had set up their own small little fair for the guest, so be it a coconut shack or a popcorn vendor, hoopla or mini-archery. Sofa’s were laid out in the garden where the guests relaxed in the morning before the wedding by reading news papers or indulging themselves into the games organized by the lovely couple. The wedding took place in the beautiful orangery in the house with very high ceilings, wall decorated with marble statues and beautiful light steaming through the windows. I loved the wedding cake. It was a penguin in the form of a cake.  This Aynhoe Park Wedding has been the most exciting wedding I’ve photographed over the years.

Here are some of the pictures from the day that I love.

The day was looking really busy with lots going on all through the day.  A civil ceremony, traditional Hindu wedding and reception, all packed into one day. It was a beautiful day with lovely blue skies. The wedding took place in a stunning Vaulty Manor in Heybridge, Essex.

Shimon and Adam are a lovely couple. One of the most relaxed bride and groom, I’ve come across.  Civil ceremony started with just close family and friends and then rest of the guest started arriving before the start of Hindu ceremony. There were some beautiful moments during the entire wedding. After the Hindu ceremony was over, Adam and Shimon were standing and listening to what priest was saying. The priest then said that whoever now sits down first will rule the house hold. Before Adam could realize, Shimon was already sitting down. It was a very funny moment, which can’t be described in words. It could have been just experienced. The entire hall burst out laughing.

Just before the reception, Adam’s Grandpa took an Aston Martin for a spin. The entire family was excited and so was Grandpa. It was so good to see his expressions when he came back from the drive and to listen to his experience.

Shimon and Adam entered the reception hall along with the duet between the bagpipe and dhol. It was an experience to hear something so good. Who can imagine a duet between a bagpipe and a dhol. Two different instruments from two different countries. But it worked perfect. They had not even practiced it. It was beautiful.

It was a lovely wedding. Here are some of the pictures from the day.
